Question 5.3 heads on 6.0 liter engine?

Do you have to match the bore size of the 6.0 liter to the bore size of the 5.3 heads?

the cylinder heads in stock trim were made to fit any of the Gen III motors so they should be a "bolt on" 5.3 heads on a 6.0, your compression is gonna go way up there!

anyways..will they fit, yes, thats the answer you were asking for.

It was my understanding that you could run 3.9" heads on a 4" bore, however there would be a .050" lip or step from the conbustion chamber to the bore which will hinder flow. Also, because of the wider bore, you can fit larger valves in there. 3.9" heads will not have the larger valves, while stage 3 heads will.

What he says....
The stock 5.3 truck heads have much smaller intake valves due to the smaller bore causing shielding and impeding the intake flow.
Also watch out on your compression ratio, it will go thru the roof!

I am wanting about 12:1 cr but I think it will only be about 11:1. They are hand ported, have LS6 valves, and flow 291 int and 226 ex.
