I'm getting very suspicious of Speed Inc's tuning capability.
People get those #'s with cam only (222-224 duration range) and a good tune...

nice gains for heads/cam swap

Thanks for the responses guys, I know I left power on the table by not getting headers, primarily a cost/clearance/noise issue, but haven't ruled this out down the road. Anyway there was one question in the thread:

"Sounds like a great combo, very close to what I'm building right now. How is the idle, can you tell it has a cam in it? Any lope to it? I have the smaller AFR 220/224 XER cam here, but I'm still not sure if I want to install it or something quieter.
How about valvetrain noise? Quiet as stock, or much louder?"

Have only driven the car once (just got it back last night), but idle was close to stock at around 750 in gear, and I had prepared myself for the world's loudest sewing machine valvetrain, but it's pretty tame. Not much lope either, I just need to drive the car more to properly answer your questions.

My goal for the car was and is 110+ trap speeds in summer weather, think the car weighs about 3550 + my 200lbs, probably going to be close. The stock car was fun, but now have something which can represent our f-body/LS1 community in a more favorable light .

Did anyone check the gain? 63 RWHP is nice.

380 with an Auto and stock mainfolds is also awesome with that small of a cam. It probably rides and drives almost like stock.

Now get those other mods taken care of and post your numbers of 420+ with an auto + mild cam!

Did you consider AFR's 224/228 cam as part of the 205 package?

Not really, actually approached Speed Inc with the idea of a 220/220 .580-.580 116 lsa XER, as I wanted excellent idle and driveability. They suggested the 222/222 .581 XER 115.5 and I went with that. My limited understanding is that a split cam is more difficult to tune, and being a conservative person, I wanted the process to be straightforward. Only difference is the cam card says 115lsa, so that is what I have.
