Its all in how you read it. I took nothing "degrading" from it.
Read in:
Happy drunk voice - its fine
Higher than a kite hippie voice - even better
Tired, long day at work voice - still ok
Uptight, thin skinned voice - not so good now
Lighten up folks.
Paul keep up the great customer service and information that I've ALWAYS received from you and Thunder Racing.

Re: TR 224, how can you tell?
Well, Im glad I wasnt the only one who was taken aback at Paul's comments. I would never purposely give out misinformation about a vendor's product. Just nowadays, SO many people are using Comp grinds, and the 224/224 duration cam has become VERY popular and a lot of people use the Comp version of those grinds so it was an easy mistake to make.
Once again, I'm sorry I was wrong. But if every single person on the internet didn't post something unless they were 100.000% sure they were correct, no one would be posting things. I was trying to offer help, and at the point when I made my original post, no one from Thunder had stepped into the thread and said anything...
I've never dealt with Thunder Racing before, so Im sure they normally don't act as unprofessional as Paul did, but since my one and only dealing with Thunder was this instance, and the fact that there are many other sponsors out there that have the exact same products as Thunder, I will definitely remember Paul's harsh attitude towards me next time I need to order something.

I don't feel as though I was rude, so therefore I don't feel as if I need to apologize for anything. I'm am sorry that a couple of people took my comments the wrong way. Everyone has a choice of where to buy from and I always recommend to anyone to buy from whomever they feel most comfortable with, weather that me or someone else.
Have a great day. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Good. You guys don't call Evil Paul. Leaves him more time to answer my emails and phone calls. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
See you tomorrow, Evil Paul? I'm psyched. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Actually you won't see me tomorrow. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> It's my weekend off and we have a relative's camp on the Gulf for the weekend. Me and a few friends are headed down there for some relaxation and beer drinking. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Give me a call or I'll shoot you an e-mail and I'll get you mine and Angie's cell numbers in case you are coming in after we close. There is usually someone here late in Saturdays anyway. The solializing and burnout contest (you'll understand after you see the street) usually last a while.
Later;

I want to thank Paul for verifying my cam and faxing me the copy of the specs. Also to Jason for following up with an email over the weekend to make sure Paul was doing his job. What service!
Guys, I am going to need a Heads & Cam Gasket kit soon. How much??

Re: TR 224, how can you tell?
This might date me a bit, but, I can remember a time when the customer was always right. I now am so surprised when I get good or descent service it stands out in the crowd. People use to respect one another more. I learned a lot from my father and try to use it in my business. One of his words of wisdom "if you make one person happy with your service, he may tell one or two people, but, if you make him mad, he will tell everyone he sees." Thought I would share.
And as for me, I would not have wanted to be spoken to by Paul like that. Why make an enemy when none was needed? The poster may have wanted to know the truth to the matter as much as anyone. Why make him feel so little?
My husband is going to be putting a cam into his WS6 and has already spoken to Thunder Racing about it, but, we will buy from someone else now. I realize Paul sales a lot of parts and doesn't need our little sale, but, it means something to us. I don't want to pay for rude; we get enough of it for free.

Re: TR 224, how can you tell?
I own my own business and have dealt with Paul a few times now..awesome.
Anyway, I many times have fealt like I would love to strangle people for comments and misinformation, that they try to tell me. Then I hold my tongue, but once in a while I don't and basically call them out and tell them they are WRONG. So I know what its like and you need to vent and let them know. Response seemed ok , just as ok as the "wrong" cam info..Which would you rather.
Me = correct info with an attitude Thanks Paul.

Here's my $2 worth
Yes, Paul can come across harsh sometimes. It's just his personality to be brutally honest. Most of the time it's a benefit...unfortunately, it doesn't always come across well in the emotionless voice of an ariel font.
Just yesterday we got an on-line order from a person who put a rude comment in the comments. Something like, "Just send me the damn part..." Well, it turned out that the customer's address didn't verify and Paul was going to send him an e-mail. I knew that he might not come across as sweetly as I would, so I send the guy a nice note explaining that we can only ship to a verified shipping address. This is what he e-maile me back... (bleeped for your protection!)
"f**k you b***h you don't need my place of employment home address or any thing less secure than the us postal service you can take that oil and shove it up your a**
don't toy with people who are honest and up front you should change your web site or use any F*&^#$g company who will deliver s*&t its F^*^*^g oil for **** (**))(( sake oil were talking $39.13
wow you must have some blood thirsty bandits around there you people are stupid im sorry i had to be the one to tell you this i can barely take my family out to EAT for $40.00 and your concered about fraud get real lady dose it hurt to think when your dumb? jusk curious"
See what I get sometimes for being nice?? Actually, I really was so shocked to read this that I felt I had to share... At least I can say it's a first to get something like this from someone that I only was extremely polite to.
As far Paul's comments, we all tend to have a knee-jerk reaction when we read something that we have explained to people many, many times on various message boards that is just not true. Even when it's an honest mistake, sometimes I feel like we are beating our heads against a brick wall about certain topics.
Now, I'm off to check my e-mail again and see what else I can get a good laugh at

Re: TR 224, how can you tell?
I'll have to say i've had awesome service from thunder! They even helped me out over the phone on in install for a part i didn't even buy from them. My opinion though is that Constrictor wasn't saying he was right, he was just giving his opinion. Would it be wrong for paul to just correct him? I see no reason to go beyond saying,"We don't use Comp grinds, ours are custom grinds". I will however, still be ordering from TR.

Re: TR 224, how can you tell?
Since I'm the one who intiated the life that this thread has taken, I wanted to step in here after the fact to offer my comments.
I'm glad to see that at least some people took Paul's comment the way I did. I appreciate Angie's post, but still think its kind of odd that an employer would let an employee of theirs who represents their company make comments like this. It doesn't matter if you have to correct people 10,000 times on the same thing. You run a company and your company relies on the income and repeat business of people buying from you. In a market where 90% of what your company sells can be bought at a competitor, you can't afford to make comments and just blow them off as "Oh, thats just how he is." If I went off or was even slightly rude or impatient with one of my customers, and they called back and complained to my boss, I would have to answer for it.
In the end, I'm not even mad about this, its no big deal, but I just want to make sure that the email that Angie got was in no way associated with me. I don't want anyone to think I have this big grudge against Thunder and would sent them derrogitory emails.
