Default TSP 233/239 dyno results

As promised here is the graph from this morning. The horsepower is right where I want but the torque sucks, especially down low. Could this be because it's running so lean? The tune is from PCMforless. Let me know what you guys think.

Nice HP numbers but that torque seemed kinda low like you were saying.

But nice numbers regardless!!

Sorry the graph is hard to read but you're looking at 398 RWHP/ 357 RWTQ with an AFR of 14.0 - 15.0. Also at 3K RPM it's only showing about 270 RWTQ...that doesn't seem right.

That tune is way too lean. Tell whats-his-name at PCM4less to fatten it up across the board. Torque loves fuel, so you will pick up some tq when he gets some more fuel in that thing.

Edit: What made you choose 918's for a cam with that kind of lift? I would have gone with something a bit stouter personally.

AVG AFR for WOT is 13.0 and yes tq does love fuel so you can richen it up into the 12's down low to pick some up.

I know it needs fuel but do you really think I'll pick up 25 ft-lbs (which is where I would like to see it). I've heard of others using the 918's with over .600" of lift...even up to about .625" if I remember right plus I intend to check them after 10K miles and replace if needed.

Also you should look into getting a ported throttlebody and underdrive pulley.
that could possibly add 10-15rwhp

I ordered a Jantzer TB about 2 weeks ago and now he's not returning my emails. Geuss I'll just have to keep waiting. Underdrive pulley w/ the ported TB would rocket me over the 400 RWHP mark...maybe around 415 at the rear I'm geussing.

I would not run my car with that lean of a tune. Your going to blow some stuff up if you don't address it right away.

Well I won't be going anywhere near redline until this tune gets adjusted. I had no idea it was that lean until I dynoed today.

As soon as you take care of the lean condition and bring down to a safer (high 12.x) area, your TQ will come up, but your HP will also drop though. UD pulley was woth no HP for me, but it did drop my 60' time. PTB was worth about 5-7 HP as well.

decent numbers though!

I don't mind dropping maybe 5-10 HP if it means gaining 25 ft-lbs of torque down low and at the peak to bring it closer to 380. You guys really think I could see gains that large by fixing the AFR?

I was standing next to you at the dyno. Your car was waaaaayyyy lean. Thats why I asked you if it was tuned. There was a little bit of audible knock also. Nothing a good tune can't cure. Keep out of the throttle though. The dyno screen display was showing a lean condition form 2500 up

Why didn't you just have Jason at TSP send you a mail-order tune for the car? I would imagine their pricing is really comprable to pcmforless(that stuff is for the Lt1's), and I would almost guarentee he could get closer on the A/F tune than that. Man, that's probably worse than stock tune!!

I went w/ PCMforless b/c I had them do a tune after I installed my headers about 2 months ago and then I put the cam in w/in the "free updates for 60 days" timeframe so I had it updated for free. If I was starting from scratch then I would have used TSP for the tune.
JoeyG - your vette put down some damn good numbers...what cam are you running?...it sounded badass too!
