Default 382 strokers

How hard is it for a 382 stroker to make 550 FLYWHEEL and 525 LBS of torque? For you guys with these cubic inches how do hold your own on the streets?

Shouldn't be to hard. Most make around 480 or so at the wheels.

Piece of cake..I even did it with 65cc LS1 heads...get LS6 heads and make 600fwhp.
traction is horrible
fun to roll into it at 40mph and smoke the tires

480rwhp..steel driveshaft, stock 17 wheels and moser 4.11
440rwtq
92 octane

What is your best guess for my 383 as far as fwhp. It has ls6 intake, 228/232 .574 584 111 lsa, straight headers, ported 241's, 42lb FMS injectors. This is for my sand car and I am just about ready to intall it, thanks.

Your probably a little lower. I would have went with a bigger cam expecially since the car is very light and you probably don't need much torque down low

I wanted a larger cam, but my builder suggested this one for the low end torque. He likes this cam due to the fact that the car will always be under load with paddle tires?

I will see how it works, then maybe try some AFR 225's and a big Futral cam.

You are leaving alot on the table...
Cam is Tiny...torque is not an issue with strokers...I would get 240+
90mm LSx would help alot.
Go for 11.5:1 or higher compression ratio at least...over 12.1:1 you might start to see some octane issues

My guess is as your car sits (lots of details missing) 440rwhp 430rwtq

I am using 244 248 cam(still pretty mild) with 11.2 compression.
Even with paddles you won't see much of a load cause it will most likely be spinning. Another reason you won't need that torque is because the rail is half the weight and the engine will probably never see the load that a 3700lb car would

That was my thought, like I said when the small chamber 225's come out I will give them a try, along with a bigger cam.

Well, My SS made over 470RWHP with a small cam and GTP LS6 heads (for the 382 at least). Look at sig for more info. It made 454RWHP with MTI LS1 heasds. If I whould have to do it again, I will have a bit bigger cam in, i drive this thing every day and it drives like a stock but with tons of power

550 flywheel hp should be easily attainable with a good set of heads.

Hi Folks
what is the rule of thumb to convert RWHP to FWHP? I have heard 10, 20 or 30%.
thanks

On an A4 it depends on transmission, TC, rear gear and dif.

On average ~15%

A little less on M6 with stock drivetrain.
