Default Drinking OIL!!

Okay my 00 ws6 which i have owned for 2 month, 1st thing i did was headers, then duals, the car has been smoking/burning oil since. Everybody said its the crappy PCV, well i put a breather on the valve cover and capped off the PCV still same problem, Over the last weekend of driving the car pretty hard i went through 1 quart of Mobile 10-30.

Where else can the oil be coming from?

The car does not puff smoke out of the dip stick or oil cap. Can it be the valve guides?

Does it smoke mainly at high RPM? If so it is the rings.
If it were the valve guides/seals it would smoke at idle.

So when does the car smoke? High RPM, idle, all the time?

try changing oil, it sounds weird but i have had problems with that exact oil doing that. try a synthetic. gm also makes a fixed orifice pcv vavle that is supposed to correct the oil consumption issue.

Hi Folks
First, when the car is first started for the day (after sitting all night) look to see if it smokes alot- if yes, then it is the valve guides/seals. Do a compression leak down test to confirm your problem.

Yes at high RPM, what causes the rings to go bad?

out of round silynder and over clearance that our engines are notorious for.

Mine's doing the same thing ... smoking at 6000+ rpm's. It also backfires at times. The cra only has 36,000 miles, so, I doubt it's the rings. Just out of curiosity ... are you running TR6 plugs at the factory .035 gap?

Welcome to my world. My problems starting happening right after I did headers many years ago. More than likely your rings are crap and/or you have an overbored cylinder. Best solution, new bottom end. I highly doubt it is your PCV system or valve seals. I have the same problem and have been through all of it.

Shitty factory rings.
How many miles are on the motor? Does the oil get dirty/black fairly quick after an oil change?
