buying new cam in 3 days t-rex or g5x3 cam?

#1 how is the idle?
The idle is choppy but somewhat smooth, car's i've seen with heads have a great sounding idle where it sounds like its just one large lope and it has a nice sound. The g5x3 goes between about 3 different patterns of idle that i've noticed, its very unique and it sounds very mean.
#2 how will it drive around town?
It's not that bad, just sort of annoying in traffic, the highway is a brease and the 6th gear helps alot, i think i get like 25mpg on the highway or so, it's good for the cam, but once again, the sixth gear helps out alot.
#3 would you install the same cam again or do you wish you choose another?
I like the cam, and would choose it again, exept i'm the kind of guy who likes to experiment with engine combinations so i would probably pick a different cam just to have fun and see how they differ.

afr 205's and a g5x3 is the most consisent setup there is with making big power between 465-490rwhp (depending on intake/TB setup) that ive ever seen. that package ALWAYS makes good power. its not one of those packages that will make 460rwhp on a sponsors car and then 99% of the people make 415-430 on their car. get the afrs and the g5x3 and forget about it!
check out the people on the corvetteforum.com. alot have this setup.

well...it looks as i'm going to go with the g5x3 cam. that t-rex sounds like an awsome cam,but may be a tad more then i want for driving around town. thank's for the post on this matter. mike c.

Jeez that's alot of power. People are putting down 460+ with the afr 205/x3 setup? Is that SAE? I put down 313.1hp and 331.8 stock, and after spring break I'll be doing a cam swap, as well as full bolt ons.

Looks like a G5X1 put down nearly the same power as the X3 did. Tony put down the same power on 224/228 cam too. I would be real interested in the how the Trex would do on the AFR heads though...
