how do you know if you have a bent pushrod what do you check

i think u can do a compression test to find it

You definaltly don't do a compression check lol. Pull the coil packs, pull the valve covers, pull the rocker arms, and then pull the push rods. You can roll them on something nice and flat and see if there is a bend.

You're first clue would be a loud ticking noise while the engine is running.

there is a ticking noise but people tell me its souds like sparkplug or coilpack how can u tell the difference

It will sound more metallic than an electric arc-ing noise.
Have you over-revved the engine lately?

i went from 3rd to 2nd full throttle in a race and the car shut off on me. It kind of struggled to turn on. And after that its been making that ticking sound and the shifter moves very badly at lower rpms. It still seems like its running pretty good, i wouldnt know if a bent pushrod would affect the cars performance.

Def pull them, it's not too hard. Takes a few hours though.

the only reason i have'nt done it is because i dont know how to mess with the rocker arms how do i set the valves or torque the rockers when im done checking them. whats the torque specifications.

tq down 22ft-lbs. theres no adj. w/ the stock valvetrain.

Some of us with the 806 casting heads take longer to get the valve covers off because of more bolts and they are not in the easiest place to get! LOL!!
