I am looking at the ZL-402 form SLP and they told me that with AFR 225s 62cc heads that the most lift you can run without modifiying those 6cc dish pistons was .596 anyone know if this is true? Based on those lift numbers Comp cams recommended a 242/248 .593/.595 112 for my 402. Anyone else had this experience?

Im kinda leaning towards something small but will utilize a set of TEA ported AFR's (with a 2.10 intake) to the best of its ability.......

Do small cams (in terms of a stroker) with BIG LIFT (.615-.625) even make sense? any and all info will be greatly appreciated.
I would stay away from the AFR heads that have been worked by TEA....i have yet to see any good results from them. I would put the extra money from having the heads reworked into something else.

The out of the box AFR 225's (i'm guessing with a 408 that you'll be using the 225's) will be more than enough for a 408 with a small(er) cam.

Do a search on the user name PDD. He has TEA worked AFR 205's and i don't think he's gotten the expected numbers from them yet. Also... https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....&postcount=164 $3700 in heads and not even making 500 at the wheels with a 408. The extra grand it will cost for TEA to rework the heads can be better spent.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/372226-dyno-numbers-slp402ls2-afr-heads-ported-tea.html

Barely making 450 at the wheels with TEA worked AFR's on a 402.

Spend the extra grand elsewhere.

UPS man just brought my Texas Speed "Giant" 248/254, 614/613, 113

It came highly recommended, I hope it works out for me. My heads are being ported locally - flow numbers looking great so far.

You HAVE TO be kidding me.......did u NOT NOTICE the long tubes he's using, or the lack of a 90/90 setup...... LMAO plus the T REX was designed for stock headed cars....isn't going to "shine" on a built setup IMHO

We have a guy in our club (reboot on here) that put down 488 AT THE WHEELS in a 382 with those heads and a 232/236 114 LSA cam (TEA ported afr's)

as far as PDD's car... I dont know the specifics on that.... but I DO KNOW im not sending TEA a set of 205's to be "reworked"..... they are are actually putting their "program" on a set of AFR "blanks" for my setup. which I would assume is different than picking up someone elses work and trying to rework that.... but hey I dont know im not a head porter.

I HAVE YOU ALL BEAT WITH THE SMALLEST CAM haha. i'm running a 402 (does this still count?) anyways... i have the MTI stealth 2 grind cam. 224/220 116lsa and .581 lift. the cam idles STOCK and gives a fat torque curve makes power off idle to about 6,500. 6spd through a 12 bolt w/ 33 spline axles, 4.10 gear, and a posi made approx 440+ at the wheels w/ patriot heads and a fast 90/90 setup.
