Default what did you use...?!?

what did yall use (i know it's a 10mm bolt) to get the intake manifold off...i just got finished replacing the oil pressure sending unit and i bet it took 15-20 minutes just to get the farthest back right side bolt out...is there a small extension or something...it would have gone by faster if i could use like a 1in extension (which i did not have)...it prolly took 2 hours to do this...but then again this is my first time doing any "internal" work...whatever it was a little harder than i thought it would be...
oh and btw my hands are cut up and swollen from scrapping against the cowl and whatever else was in there...i guess welcome to the life of working on an ls1 f-body...

I use 1/4 drive ratchet and a deepwell to help get away from the fuel rail

The back of my hands looked like I lost a fight with a cat after pulling my intake...the 1/4 deep well sounds familiar to me, as well. The 10mm Gearwrench came in handy, too...

the back-most 4 bolts are a PITA... like was said above, a 1/4 drive with a deep socket worked well for me. Putting a little tape on the bolts to hold them up makes sliding the intake off the block MUCH easier than trying to hold them up by hand...

I used a 1/4" socket with a 1/4" to 3/8" adaptor on a 3/8" ratchet. i just pulled my manifold again today and it took me all of about 10 minutes.

i did the same thing...i thought i was being creative...i guess i'm not the first to use the tape to hold the bolts up...haha...must be nice to be able to do it in ten minutes...if i had the right tools i could prolly be able to do it in 30 minutes but i don't know about 10...haha..who knows...hopefully i won't be needing to take the intake off again any time soon...

1/4 inch rachet with a real small extension works well for me. I cut the rivets off to keep my hands getting scratched up.

I used a 1/4 inch socket with a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter, it gave that little extra you need to get down there, and that with a stubby ratchet. This works great, as for the tape, yep that is the only way to keep the bolts up!

I use a 3/8" drive deep socket that I turned a tad shorter on my lathe.....made it the exact height for me to get a rachet in there....
