Default All Pro vs. AFR 225?

I had never heard of the All Pros before but them seem to be a really nice head (the pictures and numbers I have seen).

so...which one is better....big bore (4.131" bore) engine....244/249 solid roller......would really like a 50CC chamber....

Prolly be a while before you see alot of results.

I just now heard about these heads and for my combo they look like a better choice than the AFRs.
I wont have any results untill at least this fall.

What do you want to know? Talk to some of the high end builders and you'll get a better idea as to why some people like these heads so much.

They flow ~300 CFM out of the box with no porting. With porting WATCH OUT! You can get your combustion chamber any way you want it, no settling for a "62 CC", hell the ones I'm getting are 42 CC. They are already clearanced for shaft mount rockers, and 3/8th's pushrods. They come with any kind of Guide or Seat you want, and the cooling passages on them are very nice. The people at All Pro are a joy to work with, and they don't say things like "You can't improve our port design, why try?" or "Just buy dome pistons" and they actually encourage group purchases so everyone can get a lower price. Research what All Pro does best. They build Cylinder Heads for "class restricted" SBC cars to whip some major ***.

FWIW,

All Pro's Ported by Larry Meaux set up For Solid Roller is going on my Motor.

If you have any more specific ?'s shoot me a PM I got a lot of the data saved on my computer.

$1749, but it looks like thats without some/all components?

Thread here too,
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=996731

Optional 12-degree valve-angle sounds nice... And they say it works with a FAST manifold, so I guess it will work with the stock one too?

Some questions I would have,
What does that price include?
Is it a direct bolt-in replacement, even with a 12 degree valve angle?
What does it flow at different lifts?
By "They flow ~300 CFM out of the box with no porting" do you mean 300cfm as-cast?

They sound like they do more low-volume stuff than AFR, so that explains why each head can be more customized. The AFRs look like they have significantly more quench area. I wonder if the 2nd quench pad effects flow much?

All Pros for sure. Totally customizeable (if that's a word), and a guaranteed .250 thick port wall, so plenty of work can be done.

15* Heads, they bolt right on. Although they come bare. Most people only really need some Serdi Valve Job and Bowl Work to get them going really good.

All Pro builds the baddest 23* Heads. Wait till you see the LS1tech race results at the end of this season I have a feeling an 8 Second N/A Stock Suspension car will be running some All Pro 245's.

I just heard about them about 2 weeks ago. I like all of the options availible on these heads. I choose them over AFR and will be buying a set soon for my solid roller setup.
