Default T-Rex cam

Does anyone know whether the T-Rex is a mechanical or a hydraulic? I am looking at specing a similar comp cam and was contemplating whether I should leave the stock lifters or step up to a solid roller and rev kit and 921 spring.

Dosen't Rodney use the T-Rex?

Aso what is a good injector and fuel pump for N/A High HP cars?

I am thinking of putting off the turbo install for a while and build a cam only and see how fast I can go. Maybe test some ideas and really get the chassis worked out.

Thanks

Hydraulic roller.. designed for stock lifters I believe.
Walboro 255 seems to be the fuel pump of choice.

unless you are running a 346/347 go with a custom cam, also are you running milled heads or stock? be sure to check your P to V clearance.

Yeah thats what I'm going to do (run a custom cam)...the motor will be cam only 346 but I'm sure that a custom designed specifically for my app will work best. That why I'm going with a comp cam. I know that the stock shortblock will take at least 612" with around 242 intake @.050 and 244 ex @.050.

Any suggestions from you guys with cam only cars?

Also I was thinking of using the single plane/90mm from spectrum5racing. Anyone else using the single plane?

With all the cams availble over the shelf... theres no real reason to custom grind... your application can't be that much different then everyone elses that you need a 1 off..... Save yourself some money and find you a cam to suit your needs... god knows theres 100's of options.

The good thing is that comp dosen't charge extra for custom cams that aren't too far from the norm. I have the master library from comp and the only cams that they make for the ls1 are not what I want. Besides everytime I have called them about a cam they always reccomend a custom...

The main reason that I like comp is because of their super extensive cam development programs with their engineers working the spintron. Another factor is the cost. They are a bit cheaper...

Just curious but, how do you know that the stock shortblock will take at least 612" with around 242 intake @.050 and 244 ex @.050?
