Default Crane 1.8 RRs and dual spring clearance

Anybody running Crane 1.8 rockers have any dual valve spring clearance issues or will they work with no modification?

Thanks

I just head the dealer put 'em on with a set of TEA heads with the dual springs and a hot cam. Dealer double checked everything and it all went togther.

Over 500 miles so far and no issues.

Good Luck

Thanks Mystic. That is exactly the kind of information I am looking for.

As you can see, you and I have the similar heads and, most likely, the same springs (once mine arrive).

Do you know what springs they are? REV? I forgot to ask Brent when I ordered them.

How long did it take to get yours.

Thanks

I have a Comp 216 220 .525 .532 114 lsa. My originial plans were to make most of my power lower in the rpm band and that cam is good for 1300 to 6300. That is also why I went with a D1SC Procharger w/10psi pulley. I want to make good boost at a lower rpm (lower duty cycle) then just don't wind it to the moon so it will last.

The effective lift with 1.8 rockers will be .5559 and .5633. I don't think piston to valve clearance will be a problem with the lower durations. What do you think?

This will move my power band up the rpm scale a little. How much do you think?

The main reason I went with the 1.8s is for the ability to use stock length hardened pushrods (which come with the 1.8s)and adjust the lash better. Also the price could not be beat. I got them from one of our fellow ls1tech enthusiasts for $350. They were only in the car for 2 weeks.

I ordered my heads on the Thursday before Xmas and paid for 3 day UPS - extra $25. The heads were delivered Xmas Eve to the dealer.

I also don't exactly which dual springs are on the heads. For some reason I believe they are the Comp.

What cam are you going with?? You may want to be careful. The reason I was able to get my hands the Cranes, was becuase they were recommended to a friend of mine who had a ARE H/C combo. His cam is at .560 lift. He floated the valves and one of the springs broke on him. They were also dual springs.

Good Luck
