Default Royal Purple-Is it worth it?

How many of you guys use Royal Purple products, particularly their motor oil. If so, how does it hold up and is it worth it over Moble 1 or other oils? Thx.

i don't think so. I've used it in both bikes and cars. I personally think that a good synthetic is just as good.

I used their manual transmission fluid. Everytime I got on it, the inside of my car smelled literally like a portapotty. Maybe they stick Royal Purple in portapotties. When my tranny blew up, I didn't bother to go buy more.

I've always ued it in my car. Bought it with 40K miles on it, and the tranny now has a tad over 110K on it, and still going strong. It is a proven fact that it helps on the car. How signifignant an increase over Mobile 1, i dunno. If you can get you hands on it for a decent price, then i reccomendc it. However, I think mobile 1 is good enough also, and i think you can get it now at wal-mart

I have only owned my car for a little bit , and right when i bought it i took whatever oil was in it out and used Royal Purple Racing 21. it seems to be a good oil, but my brother is an engineer and he yelled at me for an hour for using it...apperently it has no detergents in it and is to be used for an engine that is in a race car of whatever kind.
so dont by the racing 21

i run GM syncromesh in my trans, shifts like glass (when the clutch isnt acting up )

german castrol synthetic seems to be all the rage these days, lots of guys on here swear by it. do a search (internal engine, titles only) for things like german castrol, royal purple, mobil 1, and read for a few hours, you will get it all figured out.

Same here, the GC rocks! So far the best oil reports and least wear found in an oil tested.

I use the RP Syncromax in my tranny and RP Max gear in the rear end. Tranny shifts ultra smooth and no problems.

Ive got Royal Purple in the trans and Royal Purple in the motor. New trans has about 40,000 miles on it still going and this is after the cooler line let loose and I lost 4 quarts so in my eyes well worth it I think it saved the tranny. Also there is a place that sells it for 4.60 a quart 10W-30.

This is true of Redline race oils, but NOT of Royal Purple Racing oil. RP Racing oils are suitable for everyday drivers. I've used nothing but Racing 21 in my '03 Z06 and '04 Toyota 4Runner. I perform used oil analysis at every oil change on both vehicles. It's expensive, but I recommend it.

I switched from the Mobil 1 in the engine to RP 10w30. Works excellent. I love it. I just bought the tranny fluid for my M6. Changing it out Saturday morning.

I was on their website and they show a video of them putting it in a 98-99 SS, M6. They did a base dyno and it pulled 302rwhp. They changed out the engine oil, tranny fluid, diff fluid, and put their RP ice in the cooling system. They re dynoed the car and it pulled 310rwhp.

I really liked the Royal Purple tranny fluid. However, I can't really say the same for the motor oil. I decided to stick with Mobil 1.

I use GC. However, I have seen several Used Oil Analysis (UOAs) of Royal Purple Racing 41 and they looked good. This is the oil that I would use if I used Royal Purple.
