02+ ZO6 head gaskets on a 99 LS1 Heres my question. I'm reasembling a 99 LS1 for my 97 2WD GMC Sonoma (with ZQ8 suspension, short bed, 16" wheels, sport side bed), red in color. I've got head gaskets (metal ones) for a ZO6 02+ im told. will they work on this 99 LS1 engine? Every picture i've seen of 02+ cylinder heads and 02+ LS1 and LS6 blocks, all the ports and coolant passages look tgo be in tghe same location and size. (more info on engine. 02+ Zo6 cam, 02+ ZO6 intake, JTR shorty headers, full length exhaust with cats and all 4 o2 sensors, no egr, no a.i.r., custom programming, ZO6 valve springs, ZO6 fuel injectors, 97-98 Corvette fuel rail (has feed and return fuel line connections), heads milled .020", 02+ 85mm ZO6 maf sensor (using integral iat sensor, no adaptor harness)), sealed power main bearings, sealed ppower pigton rings, clevite cam bearings, factory head bolgts and gaskets))

just be sure your heads don't have a knotch in the face or they will leak. Very few 99 heads had them but some did!
Could you possibly post a pic of this notch? so others and myself can see what you're talking about.
