Default What about Katech heads???

Does anyone know how good they are?The stageII heads have 2.020/1.575 and with exchange are 1799.The LS6 heads with exchange are 2320.That sounds like a pretty good price to me.Anyone here run them? <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

I'd like to know this also. I assume they would be pretty good. Katech builds some of the C5R race engines.

Bang for the buck? There's a shop in IN i think that does heads for 3-digit prices (this is just porting but he will assemble them for you as well i believe).

I cant say who though (non-sponsor).

i guess you can email me (as long as that doesnt upset any sponsors here).

There is a sponsor here name o' Nick Agostino. Great service and good bang-for-the-buck, too. http://www.agostino-racing.com/ls1.html

And, his heads are even cheaper at Tom's:
http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/ls1catalog.html

I'd be doing *at least* the 2.055 x 1.60...

i have seen one set f there heads.
they did not perform as planned and when swapped out to a non sponsors head, the car picked up almost 50 rwhp.

that is the only dealing i have had with there heads. they have other parts that are well engineered tho.

dont know if the results where a fluke on that car or not since it s the only set i have seen.

I had a set of StageII heads and a cam
from Ka-Tech.

I did a best of 12.1 @116mph with them.

I'm using a new setup from Speed Demon Motorsports and its putting down some nice #'s. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Best bang for the buck might have to go to the LS6 heads that are CNC ported, offered direct through GM. Part # are in the recent Car Craft.

I might just know of a red 01 Formula that may end up with a set of them on it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
