Think so? Explain to me how having a cam too large for my gears/converter causes it to dyno at 343 rwhp.

I just realized I might want to give a little bit of missing info that might, you never know, matter.

My 02's were fried recently. I don't know what did it, but I can imagine driving around untuned for a few days, and to the shop, could have been a factor. It ended up running sooo rich, probaby stuck in open loop. I replaced the O2's with a pair of C5 rear O2's (autozone #13111) and the problem went away. Is there any chance at all they could have been bad (but not totally shot) when they did the tune and it threw something off that they were unaware of? They got really bad several weeks after I had it tuned...

You might be able to get more out of it with a better tune and a different dyno. But with your big cam (4500-7500 power band) you also need ported heads, 4.11 or lower gear to get maximum performance from your 347 LS1.

For your set up with 3.23, torque convertor, and headers you would get quicker ET with cam under 220@.050. Shift at 6000 rpm and keep your power band under 6200.

Under 220 duration? I find that hard to believe. Not only that, I asked to explain the rwhp. My combo doesn't have jack squat to do with the dyno output. Actually, if I had a higher stall converter and steeper gears to more accurately match my powerband it would dyno even LOWER.

I don't have experience looking at dynographs but doesn't the torque seem to fall to sharply after peak or is that normal given his combo?

Good question. Good point, it really does fall of fast. The HP falls off too early on the top end too. I don't know.

yea i ran the same setup bf afr 205's and dynoed at 369 rwhp. Somethings not workin together with the parts ya got one there, or you got a messed up tune (had that happen once). go with the ls6 intake, bigger throttle body etc. and retune.

Okay, figured I should bring this thread back to life and update anyone interested on my situation. Link to new post:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/333297-ms3-cam-only-sae-396-rwhp-371-rwtq-unlocked-4000-stall.html

I am no longer making 343 corrected rwhp. I am now making 396 SAE rwhp and 371 rwtq. Cam only through unlocked SSF4000.

All I did was add an LS6 intake and SLP underdrive pulley, with retune. That intake must have choked the ever loving crap out of the cam.

Thanks. Feels great! Not only did I gain 53 rwhp with intake/pulley but I also had the converter sent to TCI and raised the stall speed from 3500 to 4000. The power curve is SOOOOO much better too. I'll put the new dyno on my car domain page pretty soon, and leave the old one there for reference. Just remember that the new one is uncorrected, so it only shows up as 385 rwhp.

So, if you plan to cam your car get an LS6 intake manifold first!!!!!!!
