That really all depends on what you consider a good cam.

I'm running a custom cam.. 212/228 .550/.550 118LSA.

You can see the numbers in my sig. I have an almost perfect idle with it and it makes great power up to 6500rpm.

I want something that you can go out to your car when its cold out and not worry about it dying, also I dont want one that you need to be driving around at crazy rpms to get the power out of it

Maybe something like the TR224.

Futral cams are really good daily drivers also.

or maybe the F11, or so, should have more bottom end, and you wont have to string it out so far either.

I'm pleased with my F14 though, graph link in sig..

Stay away from the high duration cams then. TR224 will make good power across the board. If you're concerned with Idle quality... Go with a higher LSA

you can still run a larger cam w/o having to go with a higher lsa. alot of it depends on the tuning, but I would probably stay out of the 23x/23x range if you want close to stock, or more than, low end.

do some research by using the search button. Your going to get posts from people who will swear by what ever cam they chose. the tr224 is a proven highly streetable cam with good tq and hp, fms make nice cams as well but I dont own one so I cant compare it. What I can compare is the dyno graph. The bigger the cam the more the power band moves further up in the rpm range. Some will state that a fm13 is just as streetable as a tr224 but gives more power. I've yet to see a dyno graph that shows its power is better at lower end or better at all until you get past 5000 rpms. The extra hp on the bigger cams comes at the higher RPM range. Unless your running a big stall and are mainly concerned with track times, a fm13 is not really a good cam selection.
The flater line is the tq line. It peaks and holds from 3700 rpms to 5000 rpms. This is an excellent daily driver. Show me a graph of a cam with better tq at the same rpms and higher hp at 6k and I'll buy it. The graph to the fm14 is nice but my tq is higher at a lower rpm. Over all he has more power, but mine is in a quicker range.

Another vote for the TR224 114. I had it for a couple years, and it was a great daily driver, especially with a tune. Many people on this board have used it and liked it, but many of them have also swapped it out for a bigger cam later on. In other words, you may want a mild cam now, but when you get a taste of what it will do, you may want more.

My TR220/112LSA makes good numbers, provides a nice firm lope, and idles great at 750 rpm ... would probably do the same cam again if I had to again make the decision ... at least for my particular street application ... hardly any difference between the 220 and the 224, powerwise.

transamsixspeed, our cars would be sweet with 224/228 on a 114 LSA with some good flowing heads, according to a lot of folks here.

Thanks for the compliment 99blancoSS. You've got good numbers as well.

I think the best daily driver cam would have to be the LPE GT2-3. I have the TR220-114 in my M6. It's also a good cam.
