Default ls1 is going out.

I have a 2000 SS and I'm starting to get a serious knock. I changed my plugs last week and there was oil on two of them. Its at the dealership right now, but im not expecting good news. Im trying to decide what to do. Does anyone have any sugestions? It is my everyday car so I can't do anything to extream but I would like to take it up a step. I don't have 10 G's to drop but I would apreciate any sugestions.

If you want to do it on the cheap I'd look at a stock cube forged/stronger bottom end other wise you should think about a stroker kit.

Doesnt sound good at all. I would prepare for the worst. It's most likely going to need rings. How many miles are on the car?

Do you use nitrous? Does it smoke? 75000 is just getting broke in.

It smokes when I run it but very little. I bought the car brand new and change the oil every 3K. I took my cats off when I put my long toobs on and bought a preditor to turn the code off but it never worked right so it ran lean for a while before I got some sims.

When I bought the car I didnt realy know alot about cars. and one of my friends talked me into bumping the timing up and mixing some 110 with my fuel. Thats all I can think of that would have caused damage. but I only did that once.

Bumping the timing up can hurt it.

My 98z28 engine has problems. I wish it made a knocking noise instead. But i have a pretty decent size hole in the side of the block right behind the air pump for smog system. Anyone know how much it would cost to overhaul a 98 LS1 i could get one pretty cheap but it has 140k way more then what my 98z has i have like 92k on the motor. It happened when i started it. it was running ruff like the coil were'nt firing right turned off the car started it again same thing running ruff go to look under the hood all i seen before i opened the hood was a long trail of oil coming from under the car. Thing is i think the car will still run if i tried to start it. Pretty weird. So i would rather have a knock then a hole in the side of the block.
