Default Ported heades/ stock cam

Has anyone ported there stock heads of a 2000 camaro SS, but with retaining stock cam. of course considering that I would need a tune. Would it help anything to port the heads and replace the intake. looking to run as fast as I can with stock internals

HE SAID, port the stock heads, and use the stock cam. You might see a little power out of it, but it would be useless without a cam. Besides, if your going to change the heads, that would be the best time to do the cam.

Once you port the heads you are no longer stock internal.

Like those guys said...........I'd say you'll see minimal gains. Where as you would have stock parts, I would not consider it a "stock internal" car. Just focus on bolt-ons and suspension. Do some weight reduction and run mid-low 12's. I've seen it happen.

Also, a decent port job will cost as much as a cam.

I'd spend $300 on some 1.8 HS rocker arms & get 20 hp....and you'd still have "stock internals".

Cam and all the goodies will run around 700 or so and you will gain more power than just ported heads. Add in more for a ported oil pump, install (or do it yourself) etc.
Do a cam, then worry about heads later on, or do both at the same time.

What? if you port the heads, then you will get a cam. If you do that you will not cam it? What are you saying? And stay away from all of the intakes you stated, go with the factory LS6 intake.

Why are those intakes bad. Just curious. to see if for a little more money i get a better intake or better use of aluminum since i am at 80 degree weather and that's at night and sometimes 90 and at 4200 ft of elevation. and i am just stateing that I will do both porting of heads and cam together and not just ported heads like I planned
