Best way to ship a motor. Which company?
I may be looking to ship a LS1 shortblock. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a company to use. Of couse I would like something that is cost effective. Shipping a $800 shortblock for $300 is not cost effective. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

if you are close to an airport on both ends look in to Forward Air
http://www.forwardair.com/
you have to drop off and pickup but they are fast and have good prices, at least when I have dealt with then it was that way.

Ok I looked at forwardair and it was very expensive. FedEx was like $500+ . This would be going from Norfolk, Va (23464) to Rochester, NY (14606). I put in the weight as being 350 lbs. Does anyone have any other recommendations, weights or average package demensions? Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Go online to American Freight and get a quote from them. They will find the cheapest price for you. I have shipped a bunch with them and they are very cheap. I just shipped a shortblock from Maryland to California for $200. I would assume yours will be about $75. The weight for a shortblock should be about 200 lbs.
