Need help deciding on a cam... I am looking for a nice lope and a descent power gain but I don't want to get one with too much duration, because I don't want to have to add vacuum canisters.
What are some sizes you guys have run and your opinions on them.

i have a 224/224 .581/.581 112lsa (MTI C2 Cam) and it runs fine. im going bigger, but its held its own for the past few months. only reason im upgrading is b/c a friend got a bigger cam...and i dont like to be outdone 
well, we raced last night and i won (when my car was running right) but hes also on a stock tune. and his headers are in the back, with his td's in the mail...so i have some catching up to do now

Yeah, you need to search. A lot of people with lots of different cams have offered up lots of information and opinions. Vacuum canisters? I run the MS3 (237/242 durations on a 113 lsa) and it behaves pretty well once tuned. (in an A4 too) IMO most people who want a little lope but nothing too wild will end up somewhere between 224 and mid 230's duration.

You are going to want a torque converter with ANY cam. Heck, the stock cam wants one. You'll gain more from a converter on a stock engine than you will a cam. And the cam will be free to gain more in combination with the converter than if stock. You may be leaving 0.7 or more on the table if you get a cam without a converter.
