Crank Bolt Where can I get a longer than stock crank pully bolt? I'm swaping cams and would like to have the longer one. Can this be picked up from a retail shop around town, is there anything special about the bolt? I got a replacement one from FMS with my gasket kit, but I think it's the stock one. Thanks.
Yep, the one you got from FMS is your STOCK replacement bolt.
I went to Napa and ordered part #2801-225. It's a 16mm x 2.0 pitch x 120mm long bolt. I also ordered part#8071-0358, washers get 2 or 3. You'll need to use the washers on the longer crank bolt when you reinstall your crank pulley.

I never really took a good look but i didnt know if the cam could come out as it sets up above the crank some distance but maybe the timing chain cover interferes.

yes its necessary...you cant put the timing cover without it off and the cam is behind the timing cover

Your question was not stupid. I don't know why ppl use the rolleyes so often.
I got my longer bolt from a hardware place called Fastenal, bolt was like 6 bucks and shipping was about the same, I got it the next day. Hardware stores around here didn't carry that size bolt and napa wanted me to order 5 of them to make the order.
