223/227 .566/.567 112
272/277 advertised duration @ .006"
lobe intensity = 49.5
If you use the lobe intensity formula on split duration cams, you add the totals and divide by two to get the solution.
Total advertised duration (223 + 227 = 549) - total duration @ .050" (223 + 227 = 450) / 2 = lobe intensity (49.5)
223/227 .566/.567 112

stock cam (.004)=86.5/78.9 (calculated from JRP's intake/exhaust specs)
Crane cam (.006)=62
Comp XE (.004)=53
Cammotion (.006)=50
Comp XER (.004)=49
Note that I am just listing them by intensity number & not taking into consideration the difference between the lift measurement points. Also, I'm having a bad case of Monday morning blahs that's carrying over into the afternoon. Can someone double check my numbers, thanks.

Actualy this cam has different intake /exhaust intensity, minor but different
(.006 lifts-.050lifts)= rate intensity variance >
Intake> 272-223= 49 which is eaqual to an XE-R rate or similar
Exhaust> 277-227=50 which is a tad slower but faster than XE which is 53.
Nozee all the cams should be at .006 to compare rate intensity variance.

nuzee: I think the reference points (.004" and .006") got reversed in a couple of places on the list. Unless I'm mistaken (I could be), Crane's advertised duration numbers are based on the .004" mark and Comp Cams uses .006" to calculate theirs.

P.S.- This is why the Cranes appear less intense in comparison. Advertised duration numbers based on the lower lift point of .004" will create larger advertised duration numbers than at .006". These larger advertised duration numbers, when used in Harvey Crane's intensity formula, create a higher number/less perceived intensity.

So If in fact the crane cam does have an agressive cam similar to other cam companies (not sure if that is the case, since some of this jargon goes over my head) why does it require spring changes much later-50k compared to 15-20k like thunder racing told me about their cam TR224
