except for a couple of bad valve seals(i caught them before the install, they sent me a new set of vitons free)i've had my PP stg 2 5.7 heads a year and a half now,no problems at all.my car did seem to be down about 15-20 hp from what i thought it should have but i've since played with the tune and it does seems stronger now.but if all out power is your goal, then i would go with the AFRs.i paid a little over 1000.00 ship to my door.like South said, people have gotten mixed results.not meaning to offend you guys, Gunner. from what i've seen on the boards they have improved their product since i bought mine.

I would never mess with PP heads. Too many QC issues that can take out the entire engine.

I think the chance of getting a bad apple is worth the price of a cheaper head. When I get my funds together I am ordering PP LS6 style stage IIs from them. I would rather take the chance and have good customer service than buy something over 2 grand with less customer service.

2 grand? TEA and PRC's budget heads are more than 2 grand? That's news to me!

no just heads and cam, the dyno was a Superflow eddy current dyno which is more similar to a mustang dyno than a dynojet. car had our hand finished LS6 style heads.

Default Patriot is great!

I H I G H L Y recomend the LS6 Stage 2's. They made night and day differance with the old Lenginfelter GT2-3 cam too! Credit card and 1400 shipped with new bolts mls gaskets AND the flow sheet 305 at 600. Dual springs......they were so pretty, I didnt want to put em on. They sat on my coffee table for 2 weeks! Great heads. I would not get the 2.05 valve due to cam limitations and get em hand finished. Bye! Had them a year with some HARD miles and three cams...not one issue, thier QC is fine as of recent. My .02

Good question about the heads. People choose the 5.3's due to and increase in compression. With the Patriot LS6 heads, they are NOT milled, so you can use stock pushrod length and they weld up the chambers to increase compression. The 6.0L heads are the same mold as the LS6 head but the 6.0L heads have a lower compression, ie larger chamber, so they weld em up to make 59cc. This way, the extra compression will help offset the loss of low end tq due to a long duration cam, to make it very fun and streetable. They really are great heads, I would have gotten them hand finished and a better vavle job but my girlfriend ordered them so........Im lucky! Pulls like crazy too.

I'm not impressed with the PP LS6 style heads. They always seem to dyno 20 rwhp less than other motors running better heads (like AFR 205s and TEA 1.5s) and comparable mods. Sure they're a bargain, but how much would you be willing to spend to get an additional 20 rwhp after you've done heads and cam? Probably a lot!

I bought PP and Im going to invest that extra $1000 I would spend on better heads to put forged pistons in. I can get much more than 20rwhp out of those pistons imo...

At least this is my concept of things.

Unless you raise your compression a great deal, forged pistons will give you close to 0 rwhp advantage over stock pistons in a naturally aspirated setup. Forged pistons will make your setup stronger and more reliable, but unless you're changing the compression a lot, don't expect to find 20 rwhp. The heads are the best place to find horsepower. This is the area you don't cut corners.

Those are the heads I got on in my kitchen waiting for head bolts and gaskets to arrive. I got new valves and cncd for higher compression. I'll let you know what it dynos next month.
