Need to have more details . . .
Can you describe the sound exactly? Is it a deep dull clang? A ticking sound? How does it change under load?
Also, how is your oil pressure? Does it stay stable or does it get real wobbly/unstable at times?

My '98 z28 did the same thing, but oil would dip below 20 in idle. Is that what you mean, 25psi in idle or while driving. It should go to around 40psi while driving. The '98s had bad oil pumps, by now your engine might be toast. That could be a bad bearing. In fact if it is a clanking sound that speeds up as you drive, it is a bad bearing. If that's the case then shut it down and don't start it again until you find out.

That's what I did 10,000 miles ago, and guess what. My car has a new motor in it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
