pics of iron block please??

i was just wondering if in the iron block you had to have a hole drilled for your alternator to fit?? any pics would help out a ton becuase i dont think mine does have the hole if needed thanks, dwayne
Yes. I had to drill and tap one hole for the upper alternator bracket bolt. It was the upper front bolt. There is a boss there in the block but no hole. The middle alternator bracket bolt is not used. There is no place for it on the iron block. So you end up with two long front bolts and the one shorter side bolt. It works fine.
Just take your time and go slow. Use a center punch to make a good dent in the drill spot before you start. Keep oil on the drill bit. Keep the drill good and straight. It's not too bad.
One of the two bolts you're talking about is the one he has to drill. The 6.0 only comes with one bolt hole where the alt. mounts. You have to drill the second hole to mount the second bolt for the alt. Mine came with it already drilled, so that made me a bit happy.

yup, i drilled mine and all i have to do now is tap it, but i got the motor and tranny in and bolted up, with the help of a buddy on here (thanks again) cant wait to start her up...
shes been sittin there since sept-oct, you think that gas in the tank is bad by the way??
