I have the 2002 LS6 springs right now on the 5.3 with the crane cam and it's noisy. Trying to avoid that on the LS1 swap.

its not your springs, its your slow *** ramp rate cam and stiff springs.....same car same springs had a comp 216 220 525 532 114 cam in it with 918s springs and valvetrain sounded like a commercial sewing machine swapped out for a 226 232 595 598 114 XER fast ramp cam, valve train is much quieter.....just deal with it, its not hurting anything

As Kurtomac hinted at, it's not just the valve springs that create valvetrain noise. It's the whole of all your valvetrain components that determines how noisy it will or won't be. My valvetrain is significantly quieter since I swapped in a set of Crane roller rockers. FWIW, the ramp rates of my custom grind Cam Motion cam nearly equal those of the Comp XE-R lobes.

I agree, most of the noise is gona come from your cam choice and rockers. Mine is loisy as hell when the hood is up, but when the hood is closed I dont hear it, and when im in the car weather driving or sitting at a red light I dont hear it.

Mine sounds like a whole bunch of sewing machines putting a circus tent together, but thats the "stealth" part. Mustang guys think its about to blow.....then it does, blows their doors off! Agree on ramp rates, sometimes lifters, rockers and a lot I believe has to do with getting the right pushrod. So many ppl immediately go to 7.4", but not every cam and combo needs them.
