Default engine oil

hey guys, well heres the thing..normally i use castrol 0w30 in my car. but when i put it in storage for the winter season i did an oil change and i just put regular dino oil (napa brand) in there just cause i wanted fresh oil while it sits.

Im gonna be installing headers either end of this month of next month, and i did some researching that you might have to take out the filter and drain plug for that extra clearance.

i have the syn oil already, but am not sure if that regular no name oil will be hurting my ls1.

im just not sure if it is ok to go from synthetic to regular.

It won't do anything bad to your engine, that's one thing you don't have to worry about... I've changed the cam in my car twice, both times I used conventional motor oil for a few hundred miles before switching back to synthetic.

As long as you stick with a 3000 mile/3 month type of policy with the conventional oil, it's just fine to leave it in until after you install your headers so you don't waste your synthetic. I'd have no problems at all doing that...
