How much fly cutting is required with stock heads and the X4?

They say it will fit with no flycutting, but the clearence is as tight as you want to get. I'd deffinatlly have good springs on it.

I am running a PT4000 with 3:73's. And there is no flycutting necessary. Clearance is tight, but it has more clearance than the TREX for sure.

As for stang killer, do it. Just get the x4, you'll love it.

Everyone guessing the specs of the X4 are WAY OFF! you're guessing the specs of the x3 not x4

Get the x4, my brother has it in his 01 SS, stock untouched ls6 heads, full bolt ons, 4.10's put down 430rwhp IN ARIZONAS NASTY *** HEAT, WITH 4.10's. Car pulls like a raped ape and doesnt wanna stop. No PTV issues what so ever, just make sure and get some comp 921's or else heh.

As for all the nay sayers about how the car will run at the track ? He ran a 12.1 @ 118 missing 4th gear(1000 foot mark) on some BFG DR's IN A FULL WEIGHT CAR(launch was like 3k or so)

Im the 221/221 cam only car that White 02 WS6 was talking about that put down 400rw and ive been curious to see what the car would do with more cam. Im set on the X2, but dont know if I should go too much bigger than that.

Bigger cams dont mean less driveability, so why are u affraid ? Run some prc duals, get an x3 on a 112 and be happy. With the x3 being on a 112, gears arent needed quite as much. Trust me I know

i have a g5x4 that's going in this winter for a project. it has 111 lsa and i was thinking to keep stock gears (m6) because of the smaller lsa..............peak power should be at a lower RPM as compaired to a 114 lsa. is this right or have i got it wrong? i bought the cam off ebay for like 150 bucks, so i took a chance after a reading a little in the sticky's. going to read some more sticky. less ptv clearance???
thanks

Correct, all in the tune. My clutch is more of a PIA than the cam.

Find a tuner now and talk to some of his customers to make sure he knows what he is doing. There are a lot of pro's out there that should not be tuning for a living.

It fits with no flycutting on stock heads/stock gaskets.

Its a small cam for a stroker, and a nice healthy cam for the stock cube guys

Just make sure you have all of the other necessary mods to go with it, like headers, intake, good exhaust setup, and a good tune to compliment it all.

i recently put the F13 in my trans am, and i love it....great power between 2500 and 5800 for me...i shift at about 6100-6200 rpm. with full bolt ons and a a good tune, i put down 402rwhp 393rwtq....so i am going to say that the F13 is better for driving and all around power....now if you want full ***** out racing and not driving your car much, stick to the other cam

A 111 LSA will peak lower than a 114, but on the G5X4, it's still going to peak at like 6700 rpm, because of the long duration in a 346. Going to a 111 LSA actually brings it back down for the smaller engine, and helps bring the dynamic compression ratio up, meaning it'll make a little more low end torque without adding compression. In 408, you'd want to run it on a 114, and even then it may only peak at 6200 or so, simply because the added cubes "gobble it up."

Also, ptv is piston-to-valve clearance. A big cam will push the hydraulic setup to open the valve for a longer period of time (thus more power), but if the piston is on its way up while the valve is still down in the cylinder, then you'll have clearance problems.

And for the original question, G5X3 on a 114 would be my recommendation.

Any reason why you're shifting so low in the powerband? I have the same cam & I'm shifting @ 6750.

LG has cam kits that include Comp 921 dual springs for $995, I think. It includes pushrods and various other miscellaneous things. But, no, the cam itself does not come with anything unless you buy it in a kit.

going from 6200 shifts to 6750 shifts would change your trap speed 3-5mph im guessing, if not more. use that fm13 to its fullest
