Default Do I need different springs with this cam?

I have comp cams 918 springs in my car now I was thinking of going to A TSP Magic Stick v.3 ("MS3") Camshaft: 237/242, .603"/.609", 113 LSA They say the springs are good up to .600 or can I go this little bit more? I have a Reverse split in the car now but I'm planning on going to nitrous and it's not the best cam for that I'm thinking it's 230/224 591"/581", 113+2 lsa what does everyone think?

You definatly need new springs. I'd get the PRC dual spring kit.

any cam change requires the springs to be changed.

Unless you are spraying a large shot (>150) the MS3 should be just fine on the bottle. How many miles do you have on the 918's? They were originally rated to something like .620, but comp lowered that to .600 when the 921's came out. The only reason I'd run something else is the little bit of added security and peace of mind that duals offer. Realistically the 918's should be fine, but considering how cheap a dual spring kit can be ($270 for PRC) vs the potential to drop a valve (however slight that chance is), I'd go ahead and go with a dual.

If you only plan to shoot ~ 150 max, and that is the reason why you want to change cam, then don't bother and keep yours.

Sorry, I didn't quite get that you were asking about going to a more nitrous friendly cam. Shots of 150 or less work adequately with just about any cam. If you are happy with your current cam for NA purposes, just stick with it as predator stated.

I decided to keep my cam and start builing a 402 or 408 forged stroker to spray the heck out of. So I'm just going to do a 100 dry shot for now on the 5.7 and start building the drivetrain to handle the stroker. Thanks you guys sent me in a little different direction.
