Default Stock Rods ?'s

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE STOCK LS1 RODS ARE MADE USING THE SAME PROCESS AS THE NEW POWDER FORGED RODS FROM HOWARDS RACING CAMS?

IF SO, HOW MUCH HORSPOWER CAN THE STOCK RODS HANDLE WITH FORGED PISTONS?
http://circletrack.com/nls/139_0311_connecting_rods/

I KNOW THEY ARE CONSIDERED PM RODS AND SO ARE THE LT1 RODS, BUT ARE THEY MADE THE SAME WAY/MATERIAL?

THANKS
KEVIN

GKN makes rods for GM as well. I saw something regarding the LS rods made by GKN, but I cant remember where. I'm using stock LS1 rods for my build, with upgraded bolts

It would be interesting to know a little more about the production of the factory rods.

specifically, are the rods are powder forged? what grade metal are they made of?

Im not taking a chance with the stock rods. My 98 z28 cam just threw a rod in the side of my block. It was the first thing to break on my car.

YES, these are powder forged. Howards has many styles for many app's. I have heard OEM units are limited round 500hp before they fail, but there are a zillion variables to consider on the way they are used. Racing classes that mandate all stock components have had very good success with OEM pieces.
