Default Yet another Cam question

Anyone have any experience with the Comp Cams 54-424-11 XR265HR Cam? Comp calls it a great LS6 replacement cam.
The specs are: 212/218 .558/.563 on a 115 LSA.

I hear so many people downing the stock LS6 cam but it does seem to work ok and not produce any sewing machine noise. I was hoping that the Comp grind would be better. I'm looking for a cam to replace my stock LS1 cam which will give more torque and power across the board while still running the stock exhaust manifolds. I know I'll be leaving some HP on the table w/o headers but for now I want to keep it a little quieter. I'm working on getting some stage II LS1 heads milled 0.20 or so to bring the CR up a little and I'm going to install an LS6 intake too. I don't drag race the car much and really want a strong, semi-quiet daily driver. My current dyno numbers are 318rwhp/320rwt with only a CAI and Z06 exhaust.

I'd be happy if the factory LS6 cam would tune up at 360rwhp with a set of stg II heads and LS6 intake. Possible?

Your engine will not sound like a sewing machine with the CheaTR cam. It idles very smooth and quiet. You should be able to obtain at least 360 horsepower at the wheels with stock heads and exhaust manifolds.

That should be fine but I think the sewing machine noise is something anyone can get used to, its not exactly a quiet motor stock. I have the stealth II and you can barely tell a cam is in there as far as idle, I have a vid but can't figure out how to host it.

I thought the lift is what caused the sewing machine noise in that case the Cheatr will have it... I know the stealth does..

When I was cam shopping, I tried to computer simulated that cam. IIRC, I had to guess the intake centerline (ICL) value to find the valve events. If the ICL is 117, that cam simulated a little more power everywhere over the LS6 cam. Remember, that was just a simple simulation. Actual results could be different.

Do you know the ICL?
