Default Main cap question

I bought some billet main caps from a board member and there are two #4's.... I got caps number 1,2,3,4 and then 4 again. Is there a problem with this as the #1 and #5 maincaps are different then the other three. This is holding my engine build up right now until I get some good answers. The seller has not been helpful at all.

You could get somebody to machine the cap on a mill... Probably 50-100 bucks though

Hello,

LME did not build the motor in question. We would not let a motor go out with two caps numbered the same.

Who is the seller of the motor?

Reguardless of who built the engine. As long as the caps go back to the same positin they were originaly line bored and honed in, the caps will be just fine.

Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Bryan Neelen

I don't think fingers are being pointed to LME, we all know you guys do great work there. Either way he is going to have to check the line hone and figure out which cap is the real #4 cap, and then figure out something for the 5th cap.

Too much trouble..... seems as though I was misled... Not going to throw some crap into a 1000 h.p. F/I motor... thats for sure...

P.S. LME is a class act. They responded quickly to my inquiries... Thanks LME.
