Default Building another 346...

I am in the process of building another 346 motor. We're going to use Diamond Dome pistons but unsure of the rods and rings. Any suggestions?

What kind of setup - Nitrous? Street driving? How many passes before you wish to tear it down?

Hell Fire Rings for the jug.. And you should be fine with just about any of the rods on the market. Scat, Eagle, Callie, Lunait, etc. Just depends on how much money you want to spend.. But, all of those rods will hold 750+hp as long as they are H-Beam rods.

Whats the difference in the Eagle H beam and Eagle H beam lightweight? Any HP difference?

My new 346 uses Ross forged pistons and Crower sportsman 6.125" connecting rods (nice and light) my engine builder uses the same combo in his 8,000 RPM drag 346 and it absolutely rips. The only concern that I have with traditional H Beams is their weight penalty which creates more inertia and doesn't allow the engin to rev as quickly.

Phil why don't you just get the compression the right way... Weld and mill the chambers rather than do dome pistons. It's harder but the burn is much faster, and you have the possiblity to run it on street gas then.

The lightweight Eagle H's are not going to hold up to N2O

I'd just get a Standard Eagle H Beam with a good rod bolt. Spend the money on induction

Just say no to domes Phil!

Find a stock 4.8L crank and a alum 6.0 block

Personally dont care for Eagle stuff to much.
