What does SBC stand for in Racing Heads?
I've seen SBC heads listed with LS1 and LS6 heads, what does this stand for. I gather that these are racing verions of LS1 heads, and I can see the flow numbers are listed all the way to .700 lift, is that the big difference in these heads, accomodating huge lift cams?

SBC = small block chevy.
techniclly, the LS1 and LT1 are SBCs too.... however they're diffrent designs (well the LT1 is more of a large revision...)
you have:
gen I = Small block Chevys
gen II = the LT1, and other variants of the LT1 design
gen III = LS1, and other similar variants.
sometimes they call ours SBC gen III sometimes its LSx... but 99% of the time SBC by itself refers to the early 1950s - 1990s first generation Small Block Chevy
