Valley pan Do I need to replace the vally pan when I rebuild the engine?I see them forsale just wondering why.

Re: Valley pan If you have the LS1 valley cover and have an oil consumption problem, or just want to upgrade your PCV system to the LS6 version, then yes, you will need to replace your valley cover with the LS6 version.
The LS1 PCV system sucks in air (and also some oil) from the valve covers. The LS6 system sucks it in from inside the valley which eliminates alot of oil in your intake.
Whether you decide to do it, its up to you.
