Default Is the MAF for the '04 GTO the same as other LS1 powered cars?

I yanked my screen today when I installed my nitrous system. I didn't want to have the screen freeze over. Now the car is throwing codes and idles like it has a cam in it. So I need to get a new MAF.

Is the GTO MAF common to other LS1 cars like the TA and Corvette or am I going to have to wait on a part from down under?

Same 75mm MAF that came in the '97-'01 Vettes and '98-02 F Bodies. What happened? Did you bust a hot wire on your MAF when you were knocking out the screen?

Solder it back on. ???????? You might need a tune to account for the different airflow??????

No, we didn't touch any of the wires. For some reason, the car simply doesn't want to idle and it keeps throwing codes.

So I'm willing to sacrifice the 1/10th second and 1 mph for a normal idle and no codes.

Thanks for answering my question.

Dumb question, but did you plug the MAF back in? They'll idle like if unplugged. Hey, don't laugh, I've seen it happen before.

After checking to see if its plugged in, if its still throwing codes and idling like crap I'd suggest pulling the MAF and doing a very close inspection of the hot wires in there to make sure you didn't damage any of them. You'd be suprised how little it takes to mess them up.

I just checked it. Its plugged in.

I'm picking up a new MAF at the dealer here in a few minutes, that should solve the problem.

Because they are different.

And by the way, I found out that the MAF for the GTO is different than for the Corvette and F Body.

Here is a picture of the two parts. the top one is the one for the Corvette, the bottom one is for the GTO. Not only are they different in shape, the connectors are different too.
