That titanium valve may have something to do with the overall valvetain weight...

You are right Ed. Just one more example of the importance of weight savings. So why don't more people use rev kits? That way you have springs pushing on the lifters without adding any weight to the valvetrain. Would make the lifters appear much lighter then they really are and it wouldn't ad any spring pressure to the lifter plunger. I think that may be the hot ticket. Do you have any rev kits or does anyone know where to get them.

Comp 918 spring is a superb spring that is underated by people who have never tested their capability.

We have used 921 springs and other duals and prefer to use an ovate comp 918
The ovate has better control and makes more power everytime.
We have used 918's with comps 248@050 ,615 lift XER for over 20,000 kms and tested them afterwards to find they could have probally gone another 10,000KM'S in our opinion.
Must say we were a little nervous at first because of the BAD press they received but after all the big cam testing we have done I must agree with Brian @ compcams that these springs are the only spring I would use with a big cam upto 625 lift.

Cheers Phonsy

The G5x4 and Comp 26-921 springs are a tried and true package that flat out works with no problems or valve control issues.

We have tested it as high as 7800 and this dual is the exact same that we run on our World Challenge race cars. 7400 rev-limiter for over 2500 race miles with NO failure or loss of control. 5 races those springs have survived with one 9200 over-rev and nothing lost.

As far as the dual vs single bee-hive, Im not getting into that argument. However, I will say that they are both great springs, just understand that if you start to mix and match parts that may or may not be proven your results may vary
