The key to making the 918s work is shimming them to within .050" of coil bind. They should work very well if you do that.

Perhaps correct geometry and lifter preload plays a huge role in when these need shimming.

You are looking at pressure and pressure alone...THAT scares me. Take a look at the difference in valvetrain weights. With less weight you can control just as much if not more with less spring pressure.

Dont get me wrong, I like the 918 springs but if they break youre pretty much fuckd.

I must say for a sponcer like Comp Cams to openly praise the 918's like this is pretty badass,especially when Comp offers a badass double set-up like the 921's,I'am impressed.
I must also add that i have over 15k on my 918's with a baby cam with no problems.

Did you think he was going to talk bad about them..he works for Comp Cams man..if you ever take a look at a engine after a valve spring breaks you'll also be impressed
