You are correct and you told him this already. The thing is, his oily intake runners are before the head ports, not after. Unsealed rocker arm bolt holes will leak oil in the combustion and not generally get sucked back up in the intake ports. That does seem like a lot of oil for a catch can to handle. How long did you run it with the line from the valve cover plugged and why did you plug it up to begin with?

the motor has very little time on it whoul dthis cause a compression test to be low say 150psi in the 1 , 3 , 5 , 7 cyls. but it does hold the 150psi and dosent drop off.

Is it possible the the guy ported the heads may have hit an oil passage and thats whats causing the oil in the intake

Hi Folks
There is a vacuum in the intake so I don’t think oil in the head would get inside the intake unless it is under pressure. You would suck it into the cylinder and burn it. One way to make sure you are not suck oil thru the PCV hose is to disconnect it and plug it going into the intake. See if the smoking is cut down. How much oil are you losing?

car has a total os about 30mins in the motor and has burn about a 1/2 qt

i have also unhooked the pcv and let it hang down and plud the intake so i dident make a vacume leak. i put 100psi to the #3 cyl and put a vac.psi gauge on the dip stick and it hold the 100psi and dosent effect the gauge at all

Does it give a big poof of blue smoke on start up after it's been sitting all night? Could be worn valve guides and/or bad valve seals.
