Default Engine builder Questions

1) my rod to rod clearance where .028 and all my rod and maisn where .0015. the car only made 20 psi at a hot idel and the motor has brand new cam bearings the oil pump o ring was fine

2) my piston to bore clearnace was .006 is this to much for an ls1 the gm book says .0011 to .0025 i think. and whould this cause the rings to seal proper and scuff the cylinders a little

keep in mind this is a off ground stroker motor

You get your oil pressure off of your mains so the clearances between the rods will have very little effect on oil pressure. The clearance between the rods is too much but there is not really anything you can do about it- looks like you are using SBC rods. All the excess clearance between the rods will do is make the engine a little more noisy than usual but sometimes you cannot tell it.

You will probably be fine, rule of thumb is 10psi of oil per 1000rpms. I have read were alot of engines simular to yours have about that at idle.

the main clearance is on target, so my next thought would be to check the rear oil galley plug, easy to over look and if not there will cause low oil pressure at idle. like Bo said as long as you have 10psi for every 1000rpms you should be fine.

I wouldn't think your rings are gonna seal up very long though. .006 is quite a bit more room than they like. I really don't think it will hurt a whole lot though as long as you can live with some extra blowby.
