What I said was that as much force that he gave to break the bolt off it will take at least that much to bring the piece back out. It was friction that grabbed the business end of the bolt in the first place that made it twist and break off.

This is the light we used.
I forgot to mention that we used a bil-lite to look down the hole to inspect frequently during the 3 hour process. I wish I had the fiber optic option though.

no, it will take less force to bring it back out. trust me. think of where the friction is....it's on the top side of the threads...once the bolt snaps, there is nothing providing the tension to induce that friction. bolts work because they stretch, not because the threads "grab" anything.

oh, its treaded straight in. The problem is, my bolt broke off right were ExceSSive's did, and its in there tight.....we drilled about half way through it, but its still not coming out....so hopefully the pro's can get it out tomorrow with out any trouble......

I will say one thing, there was nothing easy about taking out ExceSSive head bolt... Thing took 3 hours a some custom fabed tools. Wish you luck. The shop should not have a problem getting it out!

Make sure they re-tap the threads after extraction... so you will have some clamping power next time you re-assemble...
SUGGESTION: Use a cheapie Sears tork wrench with the bending wand and dial scale.... It tells you if you are tightning or loosining the bolts....!!! ...and don't drink alcohal while working on cars....
Naturally, your "new" head gaskets and bolts are no longer new and must be replaced....
MAKE ABSOLUTLY CERTAIN THAT THE ANTIFREEZE IS OUT OF THE BOLT HOLES. DO THIS WITH ROLLED PICES OF PAPER TOWELS AND COMPRESSED AIR... HYDRO LOCK CAN BUST BOLTS TOO...

This happened to me. When the bolt broke there was no tension on the bolt. I tried to drill it out, but the drilling simply was turning the bolt tighter. So I poured some lube down the bolt hole, matched up the broken half of the bolt to the part stuck in the block and sloooowly turned it until it came out. Took all of 3 hours to do, but worked out fine in the end.

Kreskin the Magitian can move matter using only powerful thought waves.... He bends metal spoons without touching them. I bet he could get it out!
He lives in Caldwell NJ - next to my grandmother....
The Feds don't like him much cause they think he is a fruad. That is why his phone number is not listed, however.

I twisted one head bolt in half before. it was 2-3 inches deep in the block. I sprayed the hell outta it with bolt releaser and let it sit overnight. somehow I stuck a small flat head and tapped it a few times with hammer and the bolt spun right out with no issues. guess I got very very lucky.

Just found a block tonight for cheap..from an 01 or 02 with under 10k on it....and its only an hour away
