ET Performance Head vs the rest. AFR TEA etc

I think hes saying that Jesels would work with his 215cc, 225cc, and 255cc heads, but are not required on them, unlike the 265cc and C5R heads, which require the use of Jesel rockers.
Another unrelated "issue" with these heads is, because of their altered valve angle (11* -vs- 15* stock), I'd bet they'll be illegal or a weight penalty added in LS1TECH series rules, and any other series that allows LS1s, as most other "altered valve angle heads" are.
That being said, it'll be interesting to see if they are good enough to over come a weight penalty, if they're legal at all.

Thanks for clearing that up Cary. Have you guys test fitted any camshafts with these new heads. One key factor in a decission to run these heads would also be the ability to run a larger cam shaft without flycutting. It is my understanding that the 11 degree heads offer greater P to V clearance? Thanks

If they choose not to let or head be legal, they would only be hurting the series more than it is now.

As for as who leads the pack. There is not one shop that you can say leads the pack. We all have been successful in one way or another. TEA has a lot of stuff out there and I think Brian is a very good cylinder head guy. It depends on what you call leading the pack. The two fastest LS1 cars in the world use Heads from ET Performance. Kurt from Wheel to Wheel uses AFR heads that I ported. And so does Hardcore which is right behind with a 7.10 @ 194. When it comes to prices we are actually less expensive than most other shops out there. When it comes to CNC quality, Look at our stuff, its hard to beat. We all want to say were the best, but when it comes down to it. We all are the best. ET Performance supplies over 150 different shops just in this country, Not to mention 15 others throughout the world. We stay low key and are around a lot more than you think. Everyone will have their shop of choice. Maybe TEA, maybe ET, maybe Patriot, FFHP,GTP,PRC so on and on and on. Its nice to have that choice. I'm sure it even becomes hard for a guy to buy when there are so many choices.

btw are the ETP heads heavier than the stock castings? if so how much?

they are about 5lbs more per head approx.
The deck is about .900 thick. if we milled them another .200, they would still be heavier. I will try to post some pics of cut-aways tomorrow.

Well there you go. If the LS1 tech rules make you add 50 lbs because of the 11 degree heads there is 10 lbs right there.
Now you just need to run a full tank of gas and your good to go on weight. (Until you burn all your fuel)
So Carry lets say someone wanted to do a set of 225's with a T Rex without flycuting, and how about using a 59cc head. Possible?

Im not talking fastest cars in the world, more like middle of the road guys like me. Cars with medium to small cams, above average weight. Its not all about the dyno. My car dynoed 299rwhp with bolt ons and ran 12.0s.
Patrick G. I see your car makes lots of power, What kind on e.t.s are you running now with those AFR 205s.
Craig, nice pics.

12.0's @ what??? That's where dyno #'s come into play.
Let's not trash this thread guys, a lot of good stuff here and it doesn't need to be littered with my head is better than your head BS...
Thanks.
