I was running amsoil on my old motor with H/C and 120k and it really quieted things down and stopped my oil consumption vs mobil 1. Never tried the GC but once I switch my 408 over to synthetic it will be back on a steady diet of Amsoil.

I'm leaning towards giving AMsoil a shot.

I can get it locally for a mere 6.75/qt
As opposed to 6.25/qt

I gotta get rid of the 2.5 gallons of GC I've accumulated first.

I haven't read through all of the posts, but, UOA's have shown good wear performance for both "green" 0W-30 German Castrol & 5W-40 AMSOIL. Once I run out of my green stash, will be changing to AMSOIL. Voted for Castrol because of the green 0W-30. Mfg. has long since stopped & AMSOIL is my next equal choice. I also use a Moly additive.

I tried Amsoil and I didnt like what it did to my car. My engine ate that stuff right up. Plus my ticking got ALOT louder. I switched to GC and it only burns half of a quart to 3/4's of a quart every 3k miles. Versus 1 1/2-2 quarts of the Amsoil.

I have been using 0W30 GC and a K&N 2006 long filter for a few years. Works great.
