If you asking if you can reuse the stock bolt, no. Its a torque to stretch bolt, basically disposable. Use once and trash it.

My freind, an engineer who works designing metal bridges, tells me the steel used to manufacture a TTY bolt is similar to that used to make normal bolts. In other words, ALL bolts stretch when torked. He believes the TTY stuff is pure horse poop.

My GM dealer has re-used TTY head bolts for years without issues.

Other people I know, like my friend the Snap-On dealer who works around auto shops all day, believes you shoud NEVER re-use a TTY bolt.

Technians who teach auto mechanics say NEVER re-use a TTY bolt.

So what can you draw from this?

Use your own judgment!

PS - When Gen 3s were new many sponsors ------> said never re-use TTY bolts except for the crank bolts. I have replaced my pulley several times now. Sometimes I used a new bolt and other times I did not.

I recently re-used a crank bolt and now my pulley squeels. The guys here believe the squeel is casued by a used crank bolt.

I bought a couple of new crank bolts from Thunder Racing ---> and I will take their advice and let you know.

You need a threaded rod (M16 - 2.0) to re-install the pulley since it is pressed on and the stock crank bolt is not long enough....

The threaded rod information is important... don' t screw up the threads inside the crank shaft..... this is a major problem if you screw up here.
