I live in a house on Milner street right behind that East Gate strip off of Texas. I'm not sure yet if i am gonna put it in here or go back to columbus (my hometown) to an auto shop i work at. Do u think i could do it here or is it really gonna be a hard job? I am hopin to get it put in sometime in the next few weeks.

Untuned (my baseline pull) was 370 to the wheels. Sean at fastech, then picked up ~16hp through tuning it. Then I went to another shop in the area and had it dyno'd b/c I had dyno'd my car at the shop back before the cam went in and I wanted to get a real comparison on what I had picked up. That is where I dyno'd 395/377.

All you really need is a set of rhino ramps to roll the front of the car up on. Bascially, if you've got a 10mm and a 15mm wrench/socket your all set to do the cam swap. I'll probably be going home w/in the next week or two and could pick up my valve spring compressor while I'm put there as well. All in all, its really not that hard of a job, just alil time consuming. My install was going along smoothly until the lifter fell, and I probably would have had the car back up and running w/in the same day I started the install.

Just curious now... what kind of hp do you think i should be lookin at with this cam 230 duration 591 lift 110lsa and +4 degrees timing i have a whisper lid and flowmaster exhaust. No headers yet... although they will be ordered soon after. And just wonderin if i could get some pointers on gettin it tuned. Im on a pretty tight budget though. We need to meet up sometime so i can check out your car

o yah and we are supposed to have a party this thursday if your interested

Once you had the headers, you'd probably be looking at a step above the levels I'm making. The reason I chose the reverse split is b/c my exhaust setup is very free flowing: LT's, 3" duals w/ an X pipe dumped at the axle. I also picked it b/c of the gains I was seeing ppl get and the relatively small lift #'s that it had compared to the other cams that were making power. My car is my daily driver and only car ... so I didn't want it to be going thru springs every 15k.

What time do you get done w/ classes each day? I'll PM you my # and we can meet up sometime this week and talk cars

Try and post another sound clip. I'd love to hear that through dual exhaust.

gillbot - for the clip in my first post when it was untuned it my idle was set at 800.
1CAMWNDR - i'll see if i can't get another clip of it, and upload it for ya

Now that its tuned it idles at 900 ... but i'm going to go back when I get back home and have the idle lowered back down to 800 if i can.

I used to have mine idle at 750-800 but I kept setting Randon Misfire and Low MAP codes, I bumped it up to 850 and I haven't seen one since.

EDIT> My idle is set at 850 and 900 with AC on.

Yea, I think that when Sean tuned my car he just tuned it for a flat 900 idle ... I'm not 100% sure of this, but when I scan the car w/ EFILive ... the desired idle stays at 900 whether the A/C is on or off.

Yeah, probably set at a flat idle then. Still sounds great though!

I've got this cam in mine as well. Getting ready to fire it up for the first time here in a few minutes....

'91 GTA Trans Am with a '98 LS1/T56/moser 9" with 4.11s. Ported heads, comp 918s, titanium retainers, ARP rod bolts, ported TR LS6 oil pump, double roller timing chain, TR 7.40's, LS6 intake, ported MAF & TB, ASP pulley, custom SW LTs, and my custom 4" CAI.... we'll see how it does... can't wait. I'll post some vids after its running!

later- Jeremy
