Sounds like some blow-by through the rings...could be valve guides. Do a compression test/leak down on the cylinders. Good luck, hope you find the problem.

most oil consumption is via the valve guides which are replaceable inserts on aluminum blocks...if not then the rings and blow-by would be your next bet

Thanks for the help, could the smoke be steam form the water in the exaust. The car does not sweat out of the exaust after installing the headers and Y. If it is blow-by should I just get a new block. Please help

watch the smoke...if its water vapor it will dissapate quickly (about 18" from exhaust pipe). shouldn't need a new block. If it is blow by it could be as simple as getting new piston rings. The valve guides would also be an easy fix but you would have to pull the top of the motor apart to see for sure what the problem is.

Do you have a catch can? Check and see if there is oil in the intake. This is the most common cause of oil consumtion on these cars.

Yea, if you don't have a catch can then you should add one before doing anything i said above...if the problem still occurs afterward then its time to start digging.

As a Technician, a "rule of thumb" that we always follow is S.S.S. Start Simple Stupid. A lot of time people FREAK OUT, and think they need a new engine when something happens. ****No Offense**** A PCV is the easiest thing to check, also a commonly overlooked piece to be replaced. Who knows, it might be that easy. Replace the pcv, if that doesn't work, well everybody else outlined the needed diagnostic above. Good luck and keep us posted.

Another hint; blowby happens all the time and PCV, Valve seal problems happen mostly on deceleration and initial start up.

Also might want to take off the oil cap while the car is runing at operating temp. I had 30 psi compression in cyl 5 and when I took my oil cap off smoke came out like a chemney. Needless to say piston ring was shot. Other people on here have had the same problem same symptoms. But like everyone said check the simple stuff first. Im like you always doom and gloom when it comes to the car im usually wrong but that time I wasnt
