Default which cam for more hp

which will give teh most hp the GT2-3 or the cheatR? i want the most hp for a cam but stock sound i do plan on getting headers later if that matters

i dont want anyone to notice i have a cam but i want the best hp and torque out of one

The TR Cheater will make more power. With headers you could change the TR cam specs for a little less exhaust duration and lower LSA and make a bit more power.

I installed a GT2-3 on a guys car. It is an 02' 6 speed with LT's, stock pulley and TB. It put down (if I remember) 371 rwhp

Silence out of the exhaust, yes. The CheaTR can sound very stealthy with the right idle speed. At 800 rpm, there is a small "beat" to it, but at 850 rpm, it sounds completely stock. Want some lope? Turn the idle down to 650-700. It's all in the tune. Nobody knew I had a cam in the car when I was running the CheaTR.

Be advised though, that both the GT2-3 and the CheaTR use very fast lobes to achieve their stellar numbers and will give a slight increase in underhood valvetrain noise. If you're running stock exhaust manifolds, they do a great job in masking the added valvetrain noise (from either cam), but if you go to headers, the noise will become more pronounced.

As far as power difference, I'd wager that the CheaTR is at least 10 rwhp/10 rwtq better than the GT2-3.

i've never noticed a difference since i added lt's.

i've had it for a while now. i need to order a gasket kit and then i'm ready to go. i've been tossing around the idea of putting on some p/p heads along with it.

not bad any upgrade push rods, rocker arms, or springs i know lingenfilter is with the cam and the 1.7rockerarms for like $339 now
