I think you didn't boost the CR because that cam wouldn't fit and you didn't want to notch the pistons. As for getting 430 to the wheels with that cam on other cars, I could get 430 with that motor stock and a LG cam, headers, and UD everytime. For the record, I got 441 to the wheels with a 224/230 xer cam off the shelf from comp cams in essentially the same motor you put this monster in. My HP peaked around there too so you have something very wrong if your dyno sheet is showing a peak at 6400-6500 with that cam.
The cam has 5 degree's of advance built into it.

I'm assuming your mean knock, sure you can get LS1 Scan, free download for LS1edit.

And honestly how can a 19 year old be paying for a Z06 and hotrodding it himself. Lotto winner is only way I see that being possible.

Really amazed this car is even still at the same shop...

I dunno what color the R6 is. It's a 'friend of a friends' bike who was talking crap about my car. He's backed down now though.

The car did get run at the track by my mechanic. It ran a best of 11.80@120 with a 2.0 60ft on drag radials. The other runs he missed a gear in, and he just couldnt seem to get it to hook up. He did fix a few things and port the TB. We didnt re dyno it but chuck did send us a new tune which seems to have more low end power.

We also found the steering problem which i am taking up there to get it fixed tonight. He installed the steering shaft in the wrong position which is causing the sensor to steer the car for no reason. I also scanned the codes through the DIC. Here is what i came up with. The new tune was uploaded on Friday, so the codes would have been reset then right? I didnt check to see which ones were history and which were current but here they are.

i would think something is wrong. i have a 98 TA w/ magicstick, ls6 intake, lid, pulley, and it makes 405 at the wheels at 6500, this is with 98k miles on it and stock heads, throttlebody, etc. i tend to agree that its a lack of compression, and too big of a runner for the stock cubes and lack of compression. I also thing the 1 7/8 headers are too big. I would tend to say the best solution offered so far would be to cut the pistons and bump the compression. Hope things work out for you man.

Well while fixing a steering problem i found out the two nuts for the rear tie rods were loose causing excessive side to side play in the rear wheels. I dunno if this could have caused a power loss or not but i suppose it could have cause it some.

Maybe you should keep making 130 mph runs with the hood up...

Shawn I recently changed from a smaller cam to one slightly larger than yours. The first time I dynoed the car my numbers were low like yours.
My hp was actually higher with a lower timing. My peak hp came at 23 degrees of timing.

I service pools. like 90% of all the inground pools in the entire state. I am 1 of 2 service techs for Pools and Spas unlimited, the other being my dad whom i hired last week. I still live at home as well but pay for my car, insurance, the other 6 cars i had, and food and such. Pretty much i just dont pay rent. Car payment is $350 (mom got it through a home mortgage loan over 10 years) insurance for the truck and car is like $200 (mom as primary driver on vette, $598 just for the vette otherwise). That leaves enough money a month for an apartment but im just gonna save up the money for the 2 years i have to wait to get a house loan, save up a downpayment, build a new house, pay off the car with the home loan, and be all set. Lol.

Anyway we are going to try this weekend to try the timing thing. Chuck did the tuning so im sure it's right on where it should be but ya never know.

How's the clearance with the pushrods & heads? With those mods you should be around 470rwhp.

This is what it ran before we fixed the suspension (both rear tirods loose)

temp was 73, humidity was 80+.

60' -2.043
330-5.211
1/8-7..817
MPH-95.15
1000-10.021
1/4-11.893
MPH-120.94

I think it's still got more in it, especially with my driving. I made Fran drive becuase of my ankle. I broke the 3rd gear synchro, and snapped output shaft now, so i have to replace that before i can run it.
